Matlab/Octave Scripts and Functions

Script Description Inputs Outputs
XYfromGPS.m Converts GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) into cartesian coordinate (X and Y) system and provides bearing angle between two points latitude and longitude in degrees X and Y in meters and bearing angle in degrees
rect.m Returns points of a rectange R_c [x1 x2 x3 x4 x1; y1 y2 y3 y4 y1] given the with, height, center of the rectangle and orientation/heading angle orientation angle zero to the north positive towards east. w-width in m, h-height in m,cx - x coordinate of center in m,cy - y coordinate of center in m, head_deg - heading in degrees 5 points (5th is the first point) R_c [x1 x2 x3 x4 x1; y1 y2 y3 y4 y1] in meters
GPSDistance.m Given latitude and longidude of two points return distance between them. lat1_deg,long1_deg,lat2_deg,long2_deg in degrees distance between two points in meters
readCSV1.m Reads CSV file and returns array of numeric values input is "date-time, latitude, longitude" such as 2015-03-29T17:15:58Z,-83.119639,42.476276 output is nx5 array [hour minute second long lat] filename of the CSV file to read in 5 column array of [hour minute second long lat]
CSV1toKML.m reads in CSV1 file converts it to KML file input is "date-time, latitude, longitude" such as 2015-03-29T17:15:58Z,-83.119639,42.476276 filename of the CSV file to read in KML file of the same base name as filename
timeDiff.m Given hour miunte and sec of two times return differnce in seconds between them time 1: hh1, mm1, ss1,and time 2: hh2, mm2, ss2 seconds
tm_gps_xy_dst_spd_hd.m Given filename reads CSV file and returns array of numeric values. Input is "date-time, latitude, longitude" such as "2015-03-29T17:15:58Z,-83.119639,42.476276" output is n x 5 array [tm_sec long_deg lat_deg x_m y_m dist_m spd_mps hd_deg] tm_sec - first value is zero and consecutive value is an ofset of the first value of the input time filename of the CSV file to read in 5 column array of [hour minute second long lat]
